World religious leaders come together
The response of world religious leaders to the current world crisis is to
promote inter-religious unity and dialogue. A symposium held in Rome from
January 16-18th by the Pontifical Council for Inter-religious Dialogue
brought together 38 participants from 15 countries, who represented
Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, Jainism, Judaism, Sikhism and Zoroastrianism.
In the final document, issued by the Vatican Press Office, the participants
state that talk of war has intensified in recent months, but there has not
been much increase in the talk of peace. The document expresses the need
for dedicated efforts to examine how, in a world that is increasingly
interconnected, we can find new ways to respect our religious differences
while forging peaceful bonds based on our common humanity.
According to the symposium's final declaration, the spiritual resources for
peace include the scriptures and traditions of each religion. It advocated a
critical study of these scriptures to look out for ways in which our
various sacred writings have often been and continue to be used to justify
violence, war and exclusion of others. It expressed the need for a deeper
understanding of our various scriptures that clearly enunciate the message
and value of peace for all humanity.
The participants pledged themselves to instil a spirit of mutual respect
and genuine understanding of one another while, at the same time, helping
people see religions as a force of good. They stated that in today’s
world, inter-religious co-operation is no longer an option but a necessity.
This conclusion points very clearly to the emerging one world religious
system led by Rome prophesied for the last days. In the cause of peace
inter-religious cooperation is now a necessity. The end in view is to
isolate and suppress those who believe that theirs is the one way to God
(i.e. evangelical Christians). Instilling a spirit of mutual respect means
in reality preventing Christian evangelism to people of other faiths.
Examining our scriptures and traditions opens the way to deciding that
certain parts of these scriptures may be considered harmful to the cause of
peace and therefore should be suppressed or even cut out for example the
book of Joshua in the Bible and the references in the Koran to fighting unbelievers.
Many people reading this might be saying, Well that all sounds good. Why
not get all the religions together in the cause of peace? The problem is
that Ecumenical, New Age and Inter Faith groups have long been using the
worlds concern for peace and saving the environment as a means of promoting
a one world religion to be backed by a one world government mediated by the
UN. The first stage of this is not to merge all the different faiths into
one, an impossible task, but to discover common mystical experiences in each
faith and common concerns (particularly the peace programme) to unite
people. The hidden agenda is to unite people under one religious umbrella so
they will peacefully accept the UN's radical political goals, which are
anti-faith, anti-family, anti-national sovereignty, but pro one-world
government. This ties up with the emergence of Mystery Babylon, a global
religious force backed by a global political power (the beast), in
Revelation 17. The ultimate goal of this process is the abolition of all
these religions and the imposition of the mark of the beast system
(Revelation 13.11-18, 17.15-18).
